About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the procurement of Qblox QRC microwave modules to upgrade qubit control and measurement capabilities at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), specifically for the Advanced Microwave Photonics Group within the PML Applied Physics Division, Group 5.

The requestor requires two Qblox QRC modules, each providing 6 output channels and 2 input channels, for a combined total of 12 output channels and 4 input channels. The modules must deliver continuous output frequency coverage from 100 MHz to 10 GHz and input bandwidth exceeding 800 MHz per channel on an instantaneous, channel-independent basis. The equipment must integrate seamlessly with existing Qblox hardware, operate within the existing three-chassis infrastructure, and maintain compatibility with current Qblox control software. Key operational requirements include calibration-free operation, automatic signal path optimization, synchronized ports, and fast feedback capabilities across the entire system stack. Delivery is phased and acceptable, with software delivered electronically. Installation and testing will require an estimated 3-week duration, with government acceptance expected to exceed 7 days. The base manufacturer warranty is acceptable, with an extended warranty option available for a 24-month period. Training, maintenance, repair, government-furnished equipment, and travel requirements are marked as not applicable. A detailed specifications document is referenced as an attachment to this Statement of Work.

TITLE: Module upgrades for qubit control and measurement Requesting Lab/Division/Group: PML, Applied Physics Division, Group 5 Requisition Number: [to be entered by PR preparer]

Statement of Need The Advanced Microwave Photonics Group performs highly sensitive experiments using high speed modulation of microwave fields to control and measure superconducting quantum circuits at cryogenic temperatures. At present, we own, operate and program, with existing Qblox software, several microwave module instruments with three Qblox chassis. We need the ability to perform fast control and measurements with fully independent ports with a continuous output frequency range from 100 MHz to 10 GHz, without the need for external mixers and other components. The input ports need > 800 MHz of bandwidth. We need calibration-free operation and automatic signal path optimization with synchronized ports and fast feedback across the entire stack. We need equipment that can interface with existing hardware, in the existing hardware chassis, that is easily programmable with current control software. We need 12 more output channels and 4 more input channels. There are new upgraded Qblox microwave modules, each available with 6 output (from 100 MHz to 10 GHz) and 2 input channels with channel-independent instantaneous bandwidth of >800 MHz. We need two units with a combined 12 output channels and combined 4 input channels and the ability to interface with multiple qubits at once.
