About this file

This Requirements/Specification Document details a Sources Sought announcement for an Electro-Optic Probe System for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The procurement seeks a comprehensive system consisting of nine specific items: an optoelectronic converter, four different electro-optic electric field probes (for low-k and high-k media in transverse and longitudinal configurations), a probe holder, an E-field applicator, and calibration services. The system specifications include precise technical requirements such as frequency ranges (1-18 GHz), specific sensitivity measurements, optical fiber connections, and operational parameters like temperature range and power supply specifications.

The Sources Sought announcement indicates NIST will conduct a competitive procurement on sam.gov, with a potential small business set-aside if at least two qualified small businesses are identified. The requirement falls under NAICS code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 1000 employees. Interested businesses are invited to submit electronic capability statements of five pages or less, including company profile, product details, specification sheets, lead times, small business status, and country of origin information. The final delivery is expected approximately 20 weeks after receipt of order (ARO), with a virtual training component of half a day included.
