QUESTION & ANSWERS
QUESTIONS:
Will these circuits be used for video? Based on the number of DIDs requested it does not appear to be a normal VTC request. The reason for the question is that the cost to provision VTC enable circuits is higher than non-VTC enable circuits.
Does the PRI supplier have to supply the PRI cards and install them on the PBX? The solicitation seems to indicate the winning vendor will need to provide PBX support. This is very non-standard since this would nullify any current warranties currently in place on that equipment.
ANSWER:
In all cases, these are our voice circuits providing local dial tone. If the incumbent is selected, no changes. If a new vendor comes in, we will have to establish some test circuits but we will provide the CSUs. I will have to provide the translations on my end if a new vendor is selected, hopefully it will be one vendor for all of my government owned switches as it is today. We have some VTC on a couple of the switches but the PRIs have been sized to accommodate. Let me know if I can answer any of your questions or concerns.
