About this file
Request for Information (RFI) for Aircraft-to-Computer Interface Device
This Request for Information (RFI N68335-26-R-1081) is issued by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (PMA-262 Program Office) for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a commitment to issue a contract or RFP. The government seeks industry feedback on its ability to provide a non-developmental or commercial-off-the-shelf Aircraft-to-Computer Interface Device (ACID) to replace the end-of-life Getac X500G3 Ruggedized Laptop (DINO, P/N 504045-1001). The device will interface between the MQ-4C Triton Aircraft and Support Equipment computers for maintenance requirements, with the interfaces required to be ruggedized. The RFI is classified under NAICS Code 334111 (Electronic Computer Manufacturing) and Classification Code 7B20 (IT and Telecom - High Performance Compute).
Responses must be submitted in PDF format via email to Michael Kirchner (michael.d.kirchner2.civ@us.navy.mil) and Kevin Turner (kevin.p.turner.ctr@us.navy.mil) by 30 June 2026 at 5:00 P.M. EST, not to exceed 10 pages (product specifications, sketches, and distributor lists do not count toward page limit). Required response information includes: administrative details (company name, address, contact information, business type, country of origin); technical information covering feasibility of draft specifications, proposed solutions with design and material details, company experience with ruggedized equipment for aerospace/defense, technical capabilities, rough order of magnitude cost and schedule estimates, potential risks and mitigation strategies, and specific operational and feature characteristics. Required I/O interfaces include USB Type A 3.0 (2), HDMI (1), VGA (1), USB Thunderbolt 3.0 (1), MIL-STD-1553B 2-channel (1), Ethernet variants (3 total ports), and Serial Port RS-232 (2). The device must meet MIL-STD-810 ruggedization standards, operate 8 hours daily at 100% usage in flight-deck environments with 16-hour non-operating hangar storage, be one-man liftable per MIL-STD-1472, and include volatile memory only. Optional information includes DoD/DoJ/DHS programs of record employing similar solutions with sponsor points of contact, vendor price lists marked as "PRICE DATA," and authorized distributor lists. The government will not pay for response costs, will not return submissions, will not notify respondents of review results, and failure to respond does not preclude participation in any future RFP.

Perpetual License Software)
NAICS Code(s): 334111 – Electronic Computer Manufacturing
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
PURSUANT TO FAR 15.201(e) - THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY.
This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the government is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals.
Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this
RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response.
Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future associated RFP that may be issued.
BACKGROUND/PURPOSE/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) (XXX Program Office) is soliciting information and comments from industry on its ability to provide a non-developmental or commercial-off-the-shelf device to interface between the MQ-4C Triton Aircraft and a Support Equipment (SE) computer.
The Getac X500G3 Ruggedized Laptop, otherwise known as the Dynamic Information Notebook
Organizer (DINO, P/N 504045-1001), interfaces with the Air Vehicle via SE to meet maintenance requirements. The Getac X500G3 laptop is end-of-life and requires a replacement.
The current interface device is the chassis of the DINO laptop (i.e., the interfacing ports in the current configuration are part of the laptop hardware itself). PMA-260 and PMA-262 are pursuing a common laptop solution across aircraft platforms that requires an independent interface device. Additionally, Lakehurst is pursuing an Aircraft-to-Computer Interface Device
(ACID) to allow simpler and more manageable configuration management of laptops while maintaining aircraft interface compatibility. The interfaces are also required to be ruggedized.
The government will provide the draft specification to the ACID and are soliciting feedback from industry on feasibility and alternate solutions.
RESPONSES
Requested Information
Section 1 of the response shall provide administrative information, and shall include the following as a minimum:
• Organization name, mailing address, overnight delivery address (if different from mailing address), phone number, fax number, and name and e-mail of designated point of contact.
• Business type (large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, 8(a)-certified small disadvantaged business, HUB Zone small business, woman-owned small business, very small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business).
• Country of origin for main component(s) (if applicable)
Section 2 of the response shall provide technical information, and shall include the following as a minimum:
• Feasibility and comments on Draft Specification Provided: Please review the attached draft specification and provide feedback on the feasibility of the requirements. Are there any requirements that are unclear, overly restrictive, or technologically challenging to achieve?
• Proposed Solutions: Describe your proposed solution for the docking device (ACID).
