STAEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

FMS Case Gr-P-GLO
1.0 GENERAL
1.1 The Contractor shall provide all tools, parts, equipment, and facilities as required to repair/overhaul the T-6 Starter Generator.
2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 The Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE), located in Jacksonville, FL, is an industrial facility that reworks, repairs, and overhauls various aircraft, engines, and components. FRCSE does not have the capability to meet the demand requests for T-6 Starter Generator overhauls, which include updates and modifications. FRCSE therefore requires assistance with the overhaul, updates, and modifications to the T-6 Starter Generator (Part Number: 23078-019A).
2.2 The Starter Generator provides two distinct functions for the aircraft engine. The starter motor turns the accessory drive gear, which rotates the compressor and compressor turbine to produce airflow through the engine. The rotation speed increases until the airflow is sufficient to maintain combustion. Once the gas generator speed (N1) reaches 60%, the power management system disengages the starter motor and turns off the ignition system by opening the auto start and auto ignition relays. The starter generator is then driven by the engine and functions as a generator to supply aircraft electrical power.
