1. At the Norfolk Naval Shipyard site located in building 236 Portsmouth, Virginia conduct an air sampling event utilizing 8-hour (TWA) Time Weight Average for heavy metals to include aerosols containing the six (6) most common metals: cadmium, lead, nickel, zinc, aluminum, and hexavalent chromium [Cr (VI)] to evaluate employee exposure in the walk-in blast booth (1), hand blast cabinet (1), and weld shop welding process. Evaluate engineering controls currently in place and ensure current PPE protocols are appropriate to the working environment.
2. At the Naval Air Station Oceana site located in building 401 Virginia Beach Virginia conduct an air sampling event utilizing 8-hour (TWA) Time Weight Average for heavy metals to include aerosols containing the six (6) most common metals: cadmium, lead, nickel, zinc, aluminum, and hexavalent chromium [Cr (VI)] to evaluate employee exposure in the walk-in blast booth (1), and hand blast cabinet (1). Evaluate engineering controls currently in place and ensure current PPE protocols are appropriate to the working environment.
3. At the Norfolk Naval Shipyard site located in building 236 Portsmouth, Virginia conduct a onetime collection of and test representative standing and accumulated dust samples utilizing wipes for heavy metals containing the six (6) most common metals: cadmium, lead, nickel, zinc, aluminum, and hexavalent chromium [Cr (VI)] in the spaces specified: office area (1), change rooms (2), weld shop (1), blast cabinet (1), and work spaces (3). Evaluate the housekeeping program currently in place and ensure PPE protocols are appropriate to working environment. Recommend changes as necessary based on results.
4. At the Naval Air Station Oceana site located in building 401 Virginia Beach Virginia conduct a onetime collection of and test representative standing and accumulated dust samples utilizing wipes for heavy metals containing the six (6) most common metals: cadmium, lead, nickel, zinc, aluminum, and hexavalent chromium [Cr (VI)] in the spaces specified: office area (1) and work space (1). Evaluate the housekeeping program currently in place and ensure PPE protocols are appropriate to working environment. Recommend changes as necessary based on results.
5. At Naval Operations Base Norfolk site located in hangar V-88 Norfolk Virginia conduct a onetime collection of and test representative standing and accumulated dust samples utilizing wipes for heavy metals containing the six (6) most common metals: cadmium, lead, nickel, zinc, aluminum, and hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)] in the spaces specified: office area (1) and work space (1). Evaluate the housekeeping program currently in place and ensure PPE protocols are appropriate to working environment. Recommend changes as necessary based on results.
6. At the Norfolk Naval Shipyard site located in building 236 Portsmouth, Virginia conduct air flow measurements in the paint booth (1), walk-in blast booth (1), walk-in sanding booth (1) and welding shop (1). Evaluate engineering controls currently in place and ensure current PPE protocols are appropriate to the working environment. Recommend changes as necessary based on results.
7. At the Naval Air Station Oceana site located in building 401 Virginia Beach Virginia conduct air flow measurements in the paint booth (1) and walk-in blast booth (1). Evaluate engineering controls currently in place and ensure current PPE protocols are appropriate to the working environment. Recommend changes as necessary based on results.
8. At the Norfolk Naval Shipyard site located in building 236 Portsmouth, Virginia provide personal exposure monitoring for solvents, isocyanides, and hexavalent chromium during high volume low pressure painting operations inside walk-in paint booth based upon the safety data sheets of the paint products used. Provide recommendations based upon exposure results and engineering controls in place.
9. At the Naval Air Station Oceana site located in building 401 Virginia Beach, Virginia provide personal exposure monitoring for solvents, isocyanides, and hexavalent chromium during high volume low pressure painting operations inside walk-in paint booth based upon the safety data sheets of the paint products used. Provide recommendations based upon exposure results and engineering controls in place.
10. At the Norfolk Naval Shipyard site located in building 236 Portsmouth, Virginia conduct one time noise monitoring to evaluate exposure to noise levels for the following: Walk-in blast booth (1), hand blast cabinets (1), paint booth (1), and the welding process. Evaluate the noise monitoring program currently in place and ensure PPE protocols and appropriate working environment. Recommend changes as necessary based on results.
11. At Naval Operations Base Norfolk site located in hangar V-88 Norfolk Virginia conduct one time noise monitoring to evaluate exposure to noise levels for the following: Pneumatic tool usage and crash crane engine operation. Evaluate the noise monitoring program currently in place and ensure PPE protocols and appropriate working environment. Recommend changes as necessary based on results.
12. At the Norfolk Naval Shipyard site located in building 236 Portsmouth, Virginia provide quarterly surface samples for one year to detect the presence of six (6) most common metals cadmium, lead, nickel, zinc, aluminum, and hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)] in the lunch room (1 sample), male change room (1 sample each), female change room(1 sample).
