Text version

The purpose of this amendment is to add delivery schedule and to address vendor questions.

As a result, Required Delivery Date for this requirement of August 1, 2018 or earlier is hereby added.

Questions and Answers are as follows:

Question 1:

(a) Solicitation states 1.2TB drives, is there a speed requirement on these HDDs? (7.2k or 10K?)

(b) Do they need to be SAS or SATA?

Answer 1:

(a) 10K speed

(b) SAS drives

Question 2:

Regarding 1.2 TB Drives:

(a) Are these internal or external?

(b) Are these 2.5" or 3.5"?

Answer 2:

(a) See Answer 6(b) below

(b) 2.5" drives

Question 3:

Regarding Rack Mounted Server/KVM

(a) What type of server is sought? 1U or 2U

(b) Also does it need to be bare bone or have all the component?

(c) Is there any restrictions on the dimensions?

Answer 3:

(a) The Government does not require rack space.

(b) The Government does not understand meaning of “bare bone or to have all of the components.”

(c) No dimensional restrictions outside of needing to be rack mounted.

Question 4:

With respect to KVM:

(a) how many display port is needed? 2, 3, 4

(b) which type of display port is needed? VGA, DVI, HDMI

Answer 4:

The KVM needs to have at least one VGA input port. If the server is incapable of outputting to VGA, then the KVM will need an additional input port of whichever type the server uses to output (the type is irrelevant, as long as the server can be displayed on the KVM).

Question 5:

RJ45 Network Adapters:

(a) Are these internal or external?

(b) If internal, which type? PCIe 2.0, etc.

(c) If external, USB2.0 or USB3.0?

Answer 5:

(a) Internal network adapters.

(b) See Answer 5(a) above.

(c) The Government’s minimum requirement is for an internal SD card reader and external USB ports.

Question 6:

(a) The RFQ verbiage states that the acquisition is to procure, “one (1) server as specified in the table below.” However, the list of components will not form a complete server. For example, there is not an identified case, or even type of case (e.g. 4U rackmount, etc.). Additionally, there is no motherboard listed as a required component. As the RFQ currently stands, only a collection of components will be delivered.

(b) What are the specifications that are desired for items two (2) thru nine (9)? The table in the RFQ on FedBizOps seemed to contain only two columns. Is there another column with more information regarding component specifications?

(c) There are no cooling fans/heat sinks selected for the processors. Are they needed?

(d) Are the 24 hard drives to be hot swappable or internal to the chassis, if a case is needed?

(e) Is the 32GB ram to be on one (1) single stick, or are kits of two (2) 16GB sticks acceptable?

Answer 6:

(a) The request is for a complete system. Wherein a critical component is not specified (i.e.

motherboard, chassis), the vendor has the leeway to select a component to complete the server.

(b) Minimum requirements for items 2-9:

1.2 TB 10k RPM SAS drives;

External or internal blu-ray writer;

External or internal SD card reader; and Internal SAS Controller

(c) Cooling fans and heat sinks are required

(d) Hot swappable

(e) Per the solicitation, the minimum specifiation of 16, 32GB sticks are required.

Question 7:

We have to determine what system you have so we can check for the compatible item especially for the RAM and hard drive. Can you provide the service tag and express service code?

Answer 7:

Requirement is for a complete server.

Question 8:

(a) For the 1.2TB storage drives, are these intended to be spinning media hard drive or flash based

SSD?

(b) Please expand upon the USB SD External Support? Does this refer to an external USB SD Card reader?

(c) For the rack mounted KVM assembly, is this intended only for this server or does it need to support multiple servers in the rack?

(d) For the SAS Control - is there an expected/required level of RAID support?

(e) What is the size requirement of this server?

Answer 8:

(a) Spinning disks and SSD’s are not required.

(b) See Answer 6(b) above.

(c) Minimum requirement is to support this one server.

(d) RAID 6 support is required.

(e) Rack mounted
