Attachment #1 Amendment 0001 Vendor Questions and Answers

1. Question: We will need to know the range of host vessels that will physically support the stowage and deployment box if we are to design attachment systems? We know every boat is different but can we count on railings, chocks, bullocks, or something? How high off the water line will the bottom of the system be?

Answer: Vessel size is 18 to 35 feet, system is mounted approximately 2 to 3 feet off of waterline. There will be mounting points available on the transom/gunwale of the boat.

2 Question: Regarding the reload does the 45-minutes include pulling it out of the water? Can the net be stretched for example on the ground or does reload occur on board while underway?

Answer: The 45 minutes includes the removal time and it can be accomplished on land, not underway.

3. Question: The 150-lbs weight limit refers to just the net or the net, box and attachment system?

Answer: 150 pounds refers to everything except the attachment system.

4. Question: How are the ends to be fixed in space and are we responsible for that? For example, if the net is for a static defense in a anchorage (several hours or days) who is the header line fixed (such as an anchor)?

Answer: The ends are not fixed in space, the deployed system is in the water column for approximately 15 minutes and removed. This is not intended to be a static system that is pre-deployed and in waiting, it is only deployed from the response vessel when a threat has been detected. Once the threat has been defeated it is removed.
