PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY
NOTICE THAT WILL BE ISSUED.
This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6-Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request for Quote (RFQ) Number is N66604-25-Q-0260. In accordance with FAR 5.203(a)(2) this solicitation will be posted for less than fifteen (15) days.
This procurement is being solicited on a brand name only basis for the purchase of Teledyne Instruments Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) system, a fully turnkey device designed to measure 3-axis velocities of particulates in the water column. The data from the transducer can provide information about water currents and backscatter (or volume scattering). The device is commonly used in Science and Technology research in ocean sciences to interface with ship systems on various classes of US contracted and government vessels, as well as on scientific instrument deployments associated with basic and applied 6.1-6.2 associated with the Technology Readiness Level scale. This item is a custom unit and therefore Teledyne Instruments is the only company that it can be sourced from. While other reputable manufacturers produce similar systems, specifications of this device that fall into the mission requirements are only produced by Teledyne. The device quoted above satisfies the requirements of obtaining high-resolution water velocity and backscatter data up to a range of 154 meters, self-contained, with a depth rating up to 500-m and versatile due to the small dimensions (228.0mm wide x 420mm long).Using another company to create a new design to achieve the same goals would require significant design and engineering costs and would be prohibitive to the program.
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to award a firm fixed price (FFP) purchase order for the following brand name items; no substitutions allowed. Please note, shipping must be included and be shipped within the United States.
