The required response date/time has changed from 14-May-2020 05:00 PM to 18-May-2020 05:00 PM.
2. STEEL SHOT Questions
1. How close can we position a vac truck to the access opening of the confined space hopper to vac out the steel shot?
Answer: The truck will be able to be parked on the west and north of the Pangborn. If the truck is parked west, the distance from the truck to the confined space opening is approximately 30’. If the truck is parked north, the distance from the truck to the confined space opening is approximately 20’.
2. Assuming we would have to run vac hose into the building, what is the approximate length in feet from the outside to the inside?
Answer: The truck can be parked inside the building, but if for some reason the contractor needs to park outside the building, the Pangborn is about 10’ from the outside.
3. Where will the NFPC provided open-top 55 gallon drums be located with respect to where our vac truck will be parked? Will the drums provided come on pallets?
Answer: The NFPC provided open-top 55 gallon drums will be positioned on the North face of the Pangborn. The drums will not be on pallets
4. Once the 55 gallon drums are filled with the reclaimed shot, where and how far (distance in feet) do they have to be transferred? Where will the filled drums be stored on site? (ground level surfaces, elevated docks, inside a building). Any special handling equipment required?
Answer: The filled drums will remain on the North face of the Pangborn. The filled drums will be stored on site at ground level. No special handling equipment
5. Are there any overhead utility lines and/or restrictions with maneuvering/ positioning a vac truck?
Answer: No, there are no overhead restrictions with maneuvering/positioning the VAC truck
6. Based on previous cleaning events, how many days did it typically take to complete a reclamation event?
Answer: This should take about three days to complete

7. Will the U.S. Government and or the contract be supplying the drums?
Answer: The U.S. Government will provide drums for shot that can be reclaimed, but for shot that can not be reclaimed the contractor shall supply the drums and dispose of the steel shot.
8. Will the U.S. Government and or the contractor be responsible for off loading the drums and will the be needed to be on skids pallet skids?
Answer: The contractor will be off-loading the drums.
9. If the contractor is responsible for off loading the skids and or drums are the to be off loaded on the ground or transported by the contractor into a building?
Answer: Off-loaded onto the ground
