Questions:
Q1. ‘Statement of Work’ §1.13.2 indicates that a CQCSM cannot perform the duties of the Project
Superintendent. Please clarify that this is correct, and that the cost of a separate QC manager should be included in addition to the Project Superintendent.
A1. Correct, the CQCS Manager (CQCSM) cannot be the Project Superintendent for this project. The CQCSM is required to be on-site for this project during applicable or relevant and appropriate definable feature(s) of work and as described on SOW Section 1.13.2. The CQCSM may serve as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) on this project; however, again, the CQCSM cannot perform the duties of Project Superintendent.
Q2. Section 2.3 ‘Detailed Scope of Work’ indicates that Stairway No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 require Lead Remediation however a Lead Remediation scope is only provided for Stairway No. 4. Please clarify if Lead Remediation is required for Stairway No. 1, 2 & 3. If it is required, please provide a scope of work specific to these stairways.
A2. Stairways 1, 2, 3, and 4 are painted in lead-based paint. As described in SOW Sections 2.3.1, 2.3.2, and
2.3.3, the work related to Stairways 1, 2, and 3 is mainly demolition and removal. Depending on the contractor’s means and methods for the demolition work related to Stairways 1, 2, and 3, lead-based paint (LBP) Abatement for Stairways 1, 2, 3 may be required in accordance with SOW Sections 1.18 and

All contractor activities generating unacceptable occupational exposure to LBP shall comply with applicable or relevant and appropriate industry standards. Secure ventilation to Bldg 29, if lead removal is next to air intakes.
