Navy Gage #6656376 RAM Block 2 Rocket Motor Gage

1. SCOPE

Code MS21 has a requirement for the acquisition of the raw materials to completely build a RAM Block 2 Rocket Motor Gage in its entirety.

3. REQUIREMENTS

All equipment must be new with warranties meeting or exceeding the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) offerings.

RAM Block 2 Rocket Motor Gage

3.1.1 The Contractor shall use the Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to manufacture the RAM Block 2 Rocket Motor Gage in accordance to drawing 6656376.

3.1.2 The Contractor shall be in compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO/IEC 17025.

3.1.3 The Selected Contractor manufacturing facility must be within a 50 mile radius of NSWC Corona for quality inspections during the manufacturing process.

4. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY

In an effort to reduce cost, some of the necessary components will be repurposed from a previous interface gage. These will be provided at no cost to the contractor by the US Navy.

4.1 Government Furnished Material

4.2 Government Furnished Equipment

4.2.1 A previously used granite surface plate (FN 11) and stand (FN 1400).

4.2.2 Two spindle riser blocks (FN 8 and FN 9).

4.2.3 Two Setco brand spindles (FN 2102)

4.3 Government Furnished Information

4.3.1 A previously used granite surface plate (FN 11) and stand (FN 1400) will be provided. The granite surface plate will need to be resurfaced and ground on the unground side opposite the previously used side. The perpendicular face must be ground. A collection of inserts must be bored and epoxied in place, per the drawing requirements, to the freshly ground faces. The flatness and perpendicularity of the resurfaced granite must be within the requirements listed on the drawing. The welded metal stand for the surface plate must be stripped of all old paint and/or coatings, and powder coated gloss black.

4.3.2 Two spindle riser blocks (FN 8 and FN 9) will be provided. These must be stripped of all old paint and/or coatings and recoated with black oxide.

4.3.3 Two Setco brand spindles will need to be rebuilt with new seals, oil, and bearings.

5. DELIVERABLES

All items detailed in the Navy Gage #6656376 drawing must be delivered. Final assembly of the gage is not to be included in the contract. All subassemblies are to be machined and assembled to the requirements indicated on the drawing. However, any requirement relating to the final assembly to the granite surface plate must have additional material left in place for final grinding at assembly by the Navy. The final grinding and final assembly is not included in this contract and is the responsibility of the Navy. All machined items must be coated with black oxide if steel and black anodized if aluminum.

All hardware listed in the drawing bill of materials must be included, with the exception of the items to be provided for refurbishment detailed in 4.2.

Wiring and programming of the gage is the responsibility of the Navy.
