Questions and Answers:
Solicitation No.: N64267‐16‐T‐0290 100’ Self‐Supporting Tower
Q‐Please provide the Soils Report‐Geo Tech Report to base the Tower Foundation Design on
A‐ Soil samples will be provided at the time of award. Please make the appropriate assumptions on soil characteristics based on the TIA‐222‐G ‐ Annex F (attached).
Q‐Please provide us with additional details/specs with regard to an acceptable safety climbing cable system (i.e. MSA Dyna‐Glide, etc.)
A‐Safety cable shall be based on TIA‐222‐G standards. 3/8 in steal cable, solid core.
Q‐We want to be sure of the intent of this RFQ, so we need to confirm that we are to supply "only" with NO INSTALLATION the referenced/specified Microwave Dish Antenna's, Omi Antenna's, Camera and the Actual 100' Self Supporting Tower as a part of our RFQ response pricing. In other words, construction, erection & installation of equipment are not to be included.
A‐This procurement does NOT include construction, erection, or installation.
ANSI/TIA-222-G
ANNEX F: PRESUMPTIVE SOIL PARAMETERS (Normative)
This Annex provides presumptive soil parameters to be used in the absence of a geotechnical report. Clay soils are assumed to be non-expansive with a plasticity index less than 24. The presumptive soil parameters in this annex assume dry conditions (non-buoyant) with a soil electrical resistivity greater than 150 ohm-m and a soil pH value between 3 and 9 (Refer to 5.6.6).
When the site location is unknown, the frost depth shall be equal to 3.5 ft. [1.1 m]. Presumptive soil parameters and assumptions shall be validated for a specific site prior to installation.

N/A where:
N = standard penetration value φ = angle of internal friction γ = effective unit weight of soil c = cohesion Sf = ultimate skin friction k = lateral modulus of soil reaction ε50 = strain at 50% of ultimate compression Shallow Foundations – isolated foundations such as pier and pads and mats Deep Foundations – drilled piers, piles, and drill and bell foundations
Note: Actual soil design parameters based on a geotechnical report with similar standard penetration values may vary from the tabulated values.
