TEST SUPPORT EQUIPMENT

PURCHASE REQUEST NUMBER: ________TBD_________________

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division, Range Systems (RS) Engineering Department, Code 31 requires the purchase of a Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM) test set to enhance cellular communication and radar technology at the VACAPES Range Systems Electronic Warfare (EW) Pod Shop in Oceana, VA.

2.0 BACKGROUND

The Oceana (Atlantic) Range Systems EW Pod shop employs DRFM technology for training Fleet Air and Surface operators on electronic attack and deception techniques. Due to the limited built-in capabilities of single purpose test equipment, a hybrid system consisting of a National Instruments Controller (being procured separately), and the below listed Rhode & Schwartz equipment identified below was identified as a viable solution to obtain the required fidelity and measurement accuracy. This hybrid system provides the capability to be effective against fleet radar technology and to account for changes in signals over time. In order to provide better operational analysis before missions and to reduce the need for multiple live missions to verify operations, the equipment and necessary parts to be procured are listed in section below.
