ACTIVITY: USS NORTH DAKOTA (SSN 784)

1. SCOPE: Remove existing Deck Tile and install new Deck Tile in seven (7) locations

2. REFERENCE/PLANS:

2.1 Naval Ships Technical Manual (NSTM) Chapter 634 - S9086-VG-STM-010

2.2 Navsea Dwg 7066444, NSSN Class Submarine Deck Covering

3. REQUIREMENTS:

3.1 Remove existing Vinyl Composite Tile (VCT), clean and prepare deck, install new VCT deck tile in accordance with references 2.1 and 2.2. Total square footage is 1,221.

3.1.1 Locations:

3.1.1.1 LOT Pway, Ref 2.2 space J 34, 22 square feet, color is cool white

3.1.1.2 Pway, Ref 2.2 space J 36, 375 square feet, color is cool white

3.1.1.3 Crew’s Living Space, Ref 2.2 space L 17, 47 square feet, color is cool white

3.1.1.4 FCUL Pway, Ref 2.2 space J 05, 117 square feet, color is cool white

3.1.1.5 AMR HAB Pway, Ref 2.2 space L 52, 193 square feet, color is cool white

3.1.1.6 Pway, Ref 2.2 space K 22, 270 square feet, color is cool white

3.1.1.7 Wardroom, Ref 2.2 space K 21, 197 square feet, color is cool white with a marine blue 2-inch border

4. NOTES

4.1 USS North Dakota (SSN 784) is located at the Naval Submarine Base, Groton, CT Pier 17N.

4.2 For Contractor personnel that do not have a CAC card or a NCACS card, the following is required to obtain DBIDS credentials to gain access the base:

a. Ensure you provide the names of personnel requiring access to the SUBASE to the RSG POC. RSG will pass the information to the SUBASE Pass and ID office as your government sponsor.

b. Upon arrival at SUBASE, Present valid identification, Real ID Act-compliant state driver's license. If you do not have a Real ID, you can use a passport. If you do not have a passport you will be required to have an original birth certificate and your social security card. (not just your number).

c. Present a completed copy of the SECNAV 5512/1 form to obtain your background check. A copy of SECNAV 5512/1 can be obtained by contacting the RSG POC.

d. Upon completion of the background check, the Visitor Control Center representative will complete the DBIDS enrollment process, which includes your photo, finger prints, base restrictions, and several other assessments; after all this is done, you will be provided with your new DBIDS credential. You may now proceed to work.

4.3 The Government will remove and reinstall all sheet metal flashing.

4.4 After existing deck is removed and inspection of the underlying decking material is conducted, additional work scope may be required for government disposition (i.e. repair to CRES, structural framing, etc.).

4.5 It is desirable that personnel working on the submarine have a government security clearance and capability to submit clearance through the JPAS system. Any personnel without security clearance will have to be escorted their entire time on board. All personnel working onboard shall be a

U.S. Citizen.

4.6 Ship’s Force will dispose of all HAZMAT, including removed decking material.

4.7 Local FMA and Ship’s Force will be responsible for removing all minor interference (including sheet metal flashing/trim).

4.8 Contractor shall adhere to OPNAVINST 5090.1 for any HAZMAT needed for the performance of work indentified herein. Hazardous Material (HM) control services will be coordinated through the New London Submarine Base Consolidated Hazardous Material Reutilization Inventory Management Program (CHRIMP). Contact CHRIMP at (860) 694-4698 for the Director or the Warehouse Supervisor at 860-694-5691.

4.9 The Government will provide forklift and crane services as required. No other services will be provided unless otherwise listed.

4.10 Local FMA and Ship’s Force will provide all required exhaust ventilation equipment.

4.11 Required tile is Cool White - Imperial Texture P/N 51899 and Marine Blue - Strip P/N 50812.

The Government shall approve all substitutions.
