Statement of Work
Quality Positioning Systems – Fledermaus and Qimera Software Maintenance and Supply
1. Maintenance: The Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVO) has a requirement to procure software maintenance to support the following government-owned Fledermaus and Qimera licenses located at the Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, MS and on all T-AGS 60 Class survey ships. This maintenance is required to support systems running both the Fledermaus and Qimera software, the primary sonar editing suite on-board the NAVO survey ships.
Quality Positioning Services (QPS) offers an annual maintenance program to customers. All commercial and academic customers are enrolled in this program automatically for the first year they own Fledermaus.
QPS’s Fledermaus is an industry leading interactive 3D geo-spatial processing and analysis tool while Qimera will be the eventual replacement for Fledermaus. It allows users to interact with massive geographical datasets of numerous data types for ocean mapping and land-based projects. The intuitive 4D display and interaction allows users to rapidly gain insight and extract more information from the underlying data. It provides added value in data processing efficiency, quality control accuracy, data analysis completeness, and project integration.
Included in the current licensing structure is the Fledermaus Mid-Water Bundle (FMMidwater). FMMidwater is a software program designed to rapidly extract relevant water column features from a range of sonar file formats. FMMidwater allows users to perform threshold filtering on a number of key parameters to help with feature extraction. FMMidwater also provides multiple views of the water column features and finally allows for easy export to a variety of Fledermaus visualization objects and text files.
2. Supply: NAVO has a requirement to procure additional licenses of QPS software to support hydrographic data processing. QPS’s full complement of software includes Fledermaus Pro, FM Midwater, Qimera Clean, and Qimera Pro. Qimera Clean and Qimera Pro are similar with the Pro version being the full version with more features and is the equivalent of Fledermaus Pro.
3. Requirements: This contract shall provide all the software updates and support needed to maintain the current and future Fledermaus and Qimera license structures.
