Statement of Requirements

Materials and Supplies for Wave Glider SV3

Naval Postgraduate School

1.0 Background/Introduction:

In early July, 2019, PMS-485 transferred a Wave Glider SV3 unmanned surface vehicle, made by Liquid Robotics, Inc, to the Department of Physics at the Naval Postgraduate School. This fully functional system represents a significant enhancement in our research capabilities to investigate the operational utility of such platforms for autonomous environmental sensing, novel sensor integration, target tracking, and networking.

While being fully functional, it is imperative that we acquire the necessary support equipment and supplies for general use at NPS. This includes a mobile stand/cart for effective work in the lab, spare parts, and additional auxiliary power modules.

2.0 Minimal Technical Requirements/Salient Characteristics:

The supporting equipment needed must meet the following minimum requirements:

· A stand, including saddle and cart, designed for an SV3 model Wave Glider;

· Commonly used parts kit, including 1m and 1 2m 12-pin expansion cable each w/ locking sleeve; 2 12 pin bulkhead expansion ports; 1 and 3 MPU drill kit; power charger and debug cable; 2 1/2m masts, 2 sealed SMA connectors; 2 SMA-SMA 1.7m coax cables; 9 taper head cap screws M5x25mm titanium; 9 flat washers M5 titanium; 9 split lock washers M5 titanium; 6 self tapping inserts M5 titanium;

· An auxiliary power unit (APU), including expansion port cable with micro-wet-mate, 12-Pin, Male to Male, of 1m length.
