Statement of Requirements
Deformable Mirror for the Relay Laser Satellite Communication Testbed Adaptive Optics Center of Excellence (AOCoE) Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Naval Postgraduate School
1.0 Background/Introduction:
The Adaptive Optics Center of Excellence (AOCoE) is currently performing research on Satellite Relay Laser communication and to develop the Space Nuclear Command, Control & Communications (NC3) hands-on laboratory onsite at the Naval Postgraduate School, located in Monterey, California.
Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) has been operating state-of-the-art laboratories for space-based military communication systems including the flight-qualified FLTSATCOM testbed and the laser relay communication satellite simulator. These laboratories can provide critical knowledge in the current and future satellite communication systems for the systems engineering and integration of current and future multi-platform NC3 systems. The emphasis of the project is to provide students with hands-on experience in the working principals and experimental testing of space-based communication systems and subsystem components.
2.0 Minimal Technical Requirements/Salient Characteristics:
The minimal Characteristics are:
Qty 1: ~100 channel, 50 mm diameter PDM with AL-coated, with HV amplifiers
Qty 3: Ethernet DAC module for HV amplifiers
