About this file

This document is a performance specification that establishes the requirements for the Multi-Use Egress Trainer (MUET), which is a subsystem of the larger Underwater Egress Trainers (UET) Program. The MUET will be a one-for-one replacement for the Submerged Vehicle Egress Trainer (SVET) and will replicate the next generation of vehicles that are in current operational use, including the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV), Light Armored Vehicle (LAV), and Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV).

The key requirements include the MUET's ability to be reconfigured to replicate the egress ports, harnesses/seatbelts, and interior emergency lighting of the target vehicles. The MUET must have a capacity of at least four trainees and two instructors, and be capable of 360-degree rotation along the longitudinal axis. It must be interoperable with existing lifting devices and facilities, meet environmental requirements, and have a mean time to repair of 24 hours or less. Verification methods include analysis, demonstration, inspection, and testing.
