1. OPMA RUGGEDIZED SPECIFICATIONS

The Organic Post Mission Analysis (OPMA) ruggedized system suite shall be composed of the ruggedized OPMA workstation (a.k.a. lunchbox), accessories, and cases. Work under this contract to develop this system shall be performed in accordance with the following specifications:

1.1. Standards

In addition to general industry standards regarding quality design and construction, elements of the OPMA ruggedized system suite shall be designed and constructed in compliance with Military Standard 1472F Department of Defense (DoD) Design Criteria Standard Human Engineering (MIL-STD-1472F) and the American Society for Testing and Materials F 1166-95a Standard Practice for Human Engineering Design for Marine Systems, Equipment, and Facilities (ASTM F 1166-95a). In particular, these standards shall act as guidance for:

• Label size, color, location, verbiage, and method of attachment.

• Handle design, dimensions, material, location, and number. This shall be applied to all handles on the OPMA workstation and cases.

• Design considerations for OPMA Workstation and Case maintenance requirements. (e.g. easily accessible filters for periodic cleaning)

• Lift requirement with respect to number of personnel required for lift, weight distribution and number of handles required for safe handling.

• Determination of the affect of the shipboard physical environment (i.e. vessel stairwell and hatch dimensions) on portability of systems.

• Edge rounding, mechanical support structures, and other safety considerations.

1.2. OPMA Cases

The OPMA Workstation and Accessory Cases shall be designed and constructed to Military Standard 810F DoD Test Method Standard for Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests (MIL-STD-810F), and in particular:

• The OPMA Lunchbox and accessories shall be packed in a maximum of two cases for transport.

• Each removable system hard drive assembly shall have its own transit case, which will pack into one of the larger transport cases

• The transit cases shall hold:

o Two removable hard drive magazines inside their individual transit cases o Workstation o Power cables o Keyboard o Mouse o External backup hard drive and cables o DTD Ground Station adapter and cables (to be provided by the government, ) o Transport drive and cables o Manuals & E-media

• No loaded cases shall exceed a two person lift limit per ASTM F 1166-95a

• Each transit case shall be ruggedized to withstand drops of 48" when fully packed, with no detriment to the OPMA Workstation or Accessory operation in accordance with MIL-STD-810F, Method 516.5, Procedure 4.

• Each transit case shall be able to withstand blowing rain as tested in accordance to MIL-STD-810F, Method 506.4, Procedure 1.

• Each transit case, when packed shall be able to withstand temperatures in the range of -30° F to 150° F without failure.

• Each transit case shall be equipped with wheels and a retractable pull handle.

This does not apply to the individual hard drive assembly cases.

• Each transit case shall be equipped with a pictorial description of how to unload, assemble, and reload the hardware under the lid of the case and in associated documentation.

1.3. OPMA Ruggedized Workstation:

The OPMA Workstation:

• Shall be ruggedized appropriately for shipment in supplied transit cases and normal shipboard / pier side operations.

• Shall be delivered with Top/Major Assembly Drawings as defined in ASME Y14.24 Types and Applications of Engineering Drawings with parts list, internal computer specifications, and a hardware owner’s manual.

• Shall be a collapsible, lunchbox design, no larger than 16" height X 20" width X 10" depth when closed.

• External components shall be constructed of corrosion-resistant materials.

• Shall contain air filtration for high dust environments.

• Shall be capable of operating in temperatures between 40° F to 120° F.

• Shall be capable of supporting Windows or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

• Shall have access panels that are hinged and securable in open and closed positions.

• Shall have displays that are hinged and securable in open and closed positions.

• Shall not have friction-only securing mechanisms.

• Shall have an adjustable screen tilt between 0° and 20°.

• Shall have a hinged display which when opening and closing has adequate clearance with a keyboard sitting in front of the workstation.

• Shall have sufficient support to prevent any sagging of the hinged display.

• Shall have adjustable fan speeds and/or other features to minimize operating noise levels. These levels shall not exceed 45 dB.

• Shall have captive hardware for frequently used or frequently maintained items.

• Shall carry a three year warranty on parts and labor.

Additionally, each OPMA workstation shall meet or exceed the following:

• One (1) Intel compatible dual processor Chipset Motherboard

• Two (2) Xeon E5-2650 3.2GHz 6 Core processors or better

• One (1) SATA III controller card with the capability to support RAID (if not available on the motherboard)
