Government Responses to RFCs 01-05 YC-1674 Maintenance, Repair and Preservation

01) Question: Section F of the solicitation, page 23 of 64 states to deliver the vessel to PSNS, Bremerton.

Paragraph 1.7, page 7 of the statement of work states pickup and delivery of the vessel shall be Nanoose Bay, BC.

Please clarify which port for pick up and delivery.

Response: The pickup and delivery are going to be Nanoose Bay, BC. This will be reflected in an amendment to the solicitation.

02) Question: Assuming it is in Canada, will the government provide necessary personnel to coordinate with US Customs & Immigration upon the vessel's arrival in USA? Will the government attest to its residual cargo?

Response: We communicate with Seattle traffic with who we are, what we are doing, and we are towing a US Government asset. We will have our folks up in Canada for pick-up and making sure the barge has all equipment and such not needed for the overhaul removed so there is no “residual cargo”.

03) Question: Similarly, is the vessel delivered to a US Navy agent at the Canadian Forces test range or to a Canadian agent? Will the USN/owner of the vessel make arrangements with Canadian authorities for the vessel's arrival?

Response: We can definitely help to communicate with the Canadian folks up there when the barge is going to be delivered back, and I would imagine we have our people up there again to help receive the vessel.

04) Question: What is the current draft of YC-1674?

Response: Draft is 9ft.

05) Question: Can Govt provide how much liquid is in tanks of YC-1674?

Response: No liquid is to be expected in the tanks.
