PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT
Description: Hanel Vertical Storage Systems Maintenance and Repair.
Activity: PSNS & IMF, Bangor Code 329/Shop 31M Place of Performance: Naval Base Kitsap Bangor Trident Refit Facility (TRFB), Silverdale, WA
1. GENERAL: This is a non-personnel services contract to provide maintenance and repairs for Hanel vertical storage systems used for storage, protection and retrieval of material to support TRFB. The Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the Contractor who, in turn is responsible to the Government.
TRFB’s mission is to maintain and modernize. TRFB provides our Navy with high quality, on-time maintenance, modernization and support that helps assure America's dominance at sea. TRFB is the largest command at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor, near Silverdale, Washington. Work in this performance work statement (PWS) will be performed at NBK Bangor, which is located two miles northwest of Silverdale, WA.
1.1 Description of Services/Introduction: The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform maintenance and repairs on Hanel vertical storage systems as defined in this PWS. The contract is a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Firm Fixed Price (FFP) type contract. The contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract.
Currently, TRFB has 19 Hanel vertical storage systems in use. The Contractor will service Hanel vertical storage systems during the contract. All Hanel vertical storage systems are located on TRFB for onsite work. The Government reserves the right to increase the inventory and adjust the centralized locations identified in this contract. Additional services will be incorporated into the contract in accordance with FAR clause 52.212-4(c), Changes.
1.2 Contract Type. The IDIQ contract is to provide TRFB flexibility in a changing national security environment. TRFB has a good handle on the quantity of Hanel Vertical Storage Systems it has on hand, but there is uncertainty due to project changes and requirements. The IDIQ will provide for annual preventive maintenance and repair services task orders. This IDIQ will not provide for the cost of parts required in support of the repair services.
1.3 Period of Performance: The period of performance shall be for a five (5) year ordering period
2 Background: TRFB currently has 19 Hanel Vertical Storage and handling systems used for storage, protection and retrieval of material used to support TRFB evolutions. Storage systems are unique and pieces of equipment utilized by various shops require technicians for maintenance and repairs.
