CONTRACTOR QUESTION: (ONE QUESTION PER PAGE)

Paragraph 3.10.5.1 calls out the Hartzell Fan model 52-M-147VA-STAII2 to be replaced.

The “AI” in the original model number indicated an “Air Over” motor was used. Today, they use an “FI” code for the motor which is an IEEE45 equivalent enclosure. Otherwise, same impeller & airflow characteristics. Is this an acceptable “or equal” for the Navy?

Please will the navy supply the original order number for these fans so that Hartzell Fans can check the options, accessories and fan casing length?

The attached drawing shows current housing dimensions, but depending on the age of the existing fans, Hartzell Fans might need to make them to the “old dimensions”. Drawing also indicates new model number has substituted the AI with the FI.

Hartzell Fans will need 4 weeks to build the new fans to the correct length, options and accessories.
