About this file

This is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the manufacture, delivery, and installation of heat shielding components on an ITS Car Bottom Furnace at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY).

The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tooling, and supervision to manufacture and install four major heat shielding components constructed from insulated stainless steel: a door mast heat shield protecting door lift cylinders, safety lock-out cylinders, bearings, and grease lines; individual lift seal cylinder heat shields for the cart seal mechanism; and a cart heat shield protecting the cart drive and retractable power cord reel. Performance is on-site at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. The contractor is responsible for shipping equipment, mechanical re-assembly and field painting, and electrical field wiring between equipment and remote-control panels with all necessary conduit. NNSY is responsible for unloading equipment, clearing pathways and work areas, site cleaning, pre-installation notifications, and providing plant PPE requirements and a customer site manager. The contractor must obtain CIA access and comply with Federal and State OSHA requirements, Norfolk Naval Shipyard OSHE Program Manual, NAVSHIPYDNORINST P5090.2 requirements, and OSHE Control Manual requirements. Operational testing of the oven will be performed. NNSY will assist with unloading parts and equipment. No specific period of performance, equipment specifications, certification of work requirements, or critical time constraints are identified in this document.
