1.1 Provide OEM guidance and technical oversight for lifting and reinstallation of the #1

Main Propulsion Unit (MPU) High Pressure (HP) Turbine casing to repair labyrinth packing leak by as well as providing induction heating services/tooling for removal of casing fasteners.

2. BACKGROUND/INTRODUCTION:

2.1 Ships force reported 1 Gland Seal (GS) is experiencing abnormalities in maintaining GS header pressure. Troubleshooting and communications with PREPY have narrowed the plausible source to the #1 HP Turbine Labyrinth Packing. During a new carrier availability construction, Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) NNS found MPU HP turbine labyrinth seal flat bar springs were not hardened properly, with similar issues noted on following inspections for the carrier availability. Repairing labyrinth springs on the #1 HP Turbine requires lifting the turbine casing.
