About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) response from Norfolk Naval Shipyard for solicitation N42158-26-Q0021.
The Q&A addresses vendor responsibility regarding pump installation and electrical work. A vendor inquired whether it is acceptable to request that a licensed and certified electrician perform the pump installation as per company policy, with this responsibility placed on the customer. Norfolk Naval Shipyard clarified that the government will be responsible for installing the pumps and performing all electrical installation to the pumps via cables that will be government-provided. Vendors are required only to provide the pumps and suction hoses/strainer. This response establishes clear scope boundaries between vendor deliverables and government responsibilities for this procurement.

1) Is it a hard no if we request a licensed & certified electrician perform the installation of the pumps? It is our company policy that we put that responsibility on the customer.
Answer: We will be installing the pumps and performing the electrical installation to the pumps via cables we will provide. We just need the vendors to provide the pumps and the suction hoses/strainer.
