About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for Tape Testing Services for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY). The SOW requires a contractor to test ten (10) rolls of red tape across multiple contract/NSN samples using specific ASTM testing procedures. Key testing requirements include measuring characteristics such as adhesion to steel (55 ounces per inch ±10%), adhesion to backing (47 ounces per inch ±10%), quick stick (27 ounces per inch ±10%), elongation (maximum 7.5%), tensile strength (minimum 40 pounds per inch), curling property (maximum 2.0 inches), water penetration rate (maximum 5.0 grams per 100 inches), and unwind (3.5 pounds per inch ±10%). The work will be performed at the contractor's facility, with testing to be conducted according to specific ASTM testing methods, and the contract period begins upon award and ends when the work is complete.
