1. SCOPE

1.1 This Statement of Work (SOW) is for a total of three (3) training classes: AutoCAD 2023: Fundamentals Training Class, Autodesk Inventor 2023: Introduction to Solid Modeling, and Autodesk Inventor Nastran 2021: FEA Fundamentals. Each class will include up to ten (10) Norfolk Naval Shipyard Lifting & Handling Department (Code 710) personnel.

3. REQUIREMENTS FOR GENERAL TRAINING OUTLINE

3.1 The Government shall receive three (3) individual classes with no more than ten (10) students per class. The class may be up to five (5) days and last for no more than eight (8) hours per day.

4. TRAINING

4.1 AutoCAD: Essentials (Fundamentals Part 1) will cover the basics of working with AutoCAD software.

4.2 AutoCAD: Beyond the Basics (Fundamentals Part 2) will focus on the topics (i.e. using more advanced editing and construction techniques, adding parametric constraints to objects, creating local and global blocks, etc.) that were not covered in the AutoCAD: Essentials (Fundamentals Part 1) course.

4.3 Autodesk Inventor: Introduction to Solid Modeling will provide an understanding of the parametric design philosophy by using a hands-on or practice-intensive curriculum.

4.4 Autodesk Inventor Nastran: FEA Fundamentals will instruct the user on how to use the Autodesk Inventor Nastran software.

5. PROJECTS AND STUDENT PARTICIPATION

5.1 The Contractor shall design projects that exercise the Lifting & Handling engineer’s ability to perform AutoCAD tasks in the various disciplines of Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.

5.2 The Government shall provide students with the 2021.1.0.407 build of the AutoCAD software for training purposes. The software will be installed on each student’s government laptop which he/she will bring to the class to use for the training.

5.3 The Period of Performance (POP) for this work shall be within (1) year of contract award. The Government will at any time with in the (1) year Period of Performance (POP) schedule all services in this statement of work (SOW).

6. LOCATION

6.1 The training classes shall be held at Building 1763 at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, or a local contractor’s classroom.
