N4215824QE076 – MOBILE GANTRY CRANE
Questions and Answers
1 – Does the Buy American Apply? See below.
NOTE: The push trolley specified is a product of Japan. Is it acceptable? Yes.
Does the supplier have to note or mark anything regarding this anywhere on the solicitation form when he quotes? No.
2 – Supplier standard commercial packaging for each unit is 18 “loose” pieces (1 unpackaged 15’ long steel I-Beam, and 17 cartons [6 of the 17 cartons are a little over 12’ long each and weigh up to 235 pounds each]).
Is above standard commercial packaging acceptable; or is crating required (NOTE: crating will add thousands of dollars to the price of each unit)? Yes.
If crating is required, is crating for domestic shipment within the U.S.A. only acceptable? No.
3 – Is the IUID label required? (Unique Identification Marking) The IUID labeling can be waived.
If so, is one IUID label required for each line-item number? IUID not required.
4 –Certificate of Compliance
Does the supplier need to create a new part number that includes both the gantry crane and trolley (typically suppliers provide the gantry crane and trolley as two separate line items (with two separate part numbers)? No.
Also, some of the information on the form is not applicable (i.e., there is no NSN/LSN assigned to the item[s] specified , manufacturer’s lot/heat nos. as marked on the material is not applicable to a complete gantry crane and/or trolley) NNSY has assigned it’s own “local” LSN, 3950-LL- R24-0493. Correct, Lot/Heat Nos do not apply.
5 - The form references “Inspection and Test Reports” This requirement does not require any inspection or test reports.
What (if anything) is required? None.
Do you require the gantry cranes and trolleys be load tested prior to shipment (if so, this is not standard [additional charge would apply])? No load testing required.
