Text version

1. Q:Not a licensed engineer as most of my non-government projects do not require. Would I be eligible for consideration?
A:No, you must have a Professional Engineering license valid in a state of the USA.

2. Q: Inspection of dust collectors is completed twice a year at other facilities, is this a service the base needs?

A:No, we need a PE to analyze our shop ventilation requirements, design a new system, and write specifications for a new dust collector and ducting that will provide the required ventilation for safe work operations.
3. Q:Is a Virginia PE license required to submit a proposal?

A: I am willing to accept a PE license that is valid in any state of the US.

4. Q: Are there existing system drawings available that can be viewed prior to issuing a proposal? We have referenced item 6.1.7., et al., and would like additional detail. At a minimum, our team would like to know the existing system flow rate, in addition to the number of collection points, to give a sense of how large the system is.

A: Yes, I will provide a drawing of the shop floor. I have attached drawings of the workstations from the Industrial Hygienists that show details of the collection points. I have attached an IH survey with flow rate readings.

5. Q: Are there existing AutoCAD layout drawings of the building, ductwork, and equipment that will be made available for use for potential demo and layout drawings?

A: Yes, I will provide these.

6. Q: When do they tentatively expect the field measurement to occur?

A: Anytime during the POP.

7. Q: When does the engineering phase need to be complete?

A: October 15, 2022
