7.4 The contractor is to provide a unit price per shot up to a maximum of 35,000 Shots.
Number of shots will be determined by quantity required by ABS. The unit price is to be used for decreasing the scope of the item as it relates to the number of shots required by ABS.
7.5 The contractor shall employ rope access personnel for the Ultrasonic Technician to direct probe (transducer) placement for the purpose of obtaining material thickness and/or positioning of a video feed for the attending Surveyor or the Level II Technician to assess the condition.
7.6 Rope Access:
7.6.1. Rope Access certified contractor personnel shall perform all rope access rigging, climbing and Rope Access in accordance with their procedure documents and regulatory requirements.
7.6.2. Rope access personnel shall be fitted with a GoPro camera system mounted to their approved hard hat.

Rope Access personnel shall be instructed by the Level II UT Technician and/or Class Surveyor which specific structure requires access for UTT gauging and/or visual close-up inspection and shall be briefed on the general visual inspection to be covered while live streaming to the Level II UT technician and/or Class Surveyor video monitor.
7.6.6. Rope Access personnel shall perform final equipment check including video, communications, lighting, and Rope Access rigging.
7.6.7. Rope Access personnel shall have access to the structure requested. During the traversing to the structure, the Rope Access personnel shall take direction from the Level II UT Technician and/or Class Surveyor for any suspect adjacent structure in which a closer or detailed visual inspection and possible
UT gauging is desired. The Rope Access personnel shall maneuver the GoPro video camera as directed by the Level II UT Technician and/or Class
Surveyor to provide clear visual inspection on the video monitor. The video monitor system shall be capable of recording or a capturing a still image of any requested suspect area if so needed.
7.6.8. When the Rope Access personnel are instructed, they shall clean (as required) the UT location, apply ultrasonic Couplant to the specified location, and position the ultrasonic transducer to the specified location while the Level II
UT Technician interprets the signal on the ultrasonic unit. The Level II UT technician shall record the thickness readings and shall instruct the Rope
Access personnel how to mark the structure (if required).
7.6.9. The Rope Access personnel shall not make any evaluation of the structure unless specifically asked by the Surveyor for an opinion of condition and/or should the Rope Access personnel identify a safety concern affecting the
Rope Access process.
7.7 Surface prep areas as required to obtain ultrasonic thickness readings.
