N3904024Q0166 Questions Q1.) Section (3), paragraph (b), part (i), states "Width of both logos side by side on the front upper left side should be approximately 3" with the font "USS TEXAS DMP" similar font to attachment 4." Does this mean that both logos must be 3" wide, equaling 6" total in width? Or 3" wide total, imputing each logo to be 1.5" wide?
A1.) Each logo approximately 1.5” wide totaling approximately 3” overall for both. This is just an estimate, please use best shop practice.
Q2.) Is there currently and incumbent - and if so, what is their name? What is the contract number and value? Curious to know if there was a previous contract of this nature that has been awarded in the past. And can you kindly explain "Non-Monetary Award"?
A2.) No previous contractor exists for this agreement, as it is the initial one of its kind handled by our code. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard typically rewards its staff with cash prizes to acknowledge their hard work. Non-monetary incentives are given to employees as a token of appreciation for their achievements, dedication, or impact to the organization. In this instance, the non-monetary reward for these employees is a hooded sweatshirt tailored to their department.
Q3.) I know your contract indicates the fabric needs to be 75% cotton/25 % polyester. Our fabric is 80% poly/20% cotton. Will it work?
A3.) The shop would like to keep it to 75% cotton, 20% polyester.
Q4.) My team and I also noticed that your desired hoodie happens to be the Carhartt brand with the quarter zip feature. Are you particular on receiving that actual model and brand or are you open to receiving another brand or even a custom made option so long as it meets the requirements of the salient features?
A4.) The intent was to get a sweatshirt of the same quality as a Carhartt Rain Defender, we know that this brand has a proven track record for quality. I know we cannot request a specific brand, so as long as it meets the requirements within the SOW, similar to the features of the Carhartt Rain Defender, then that should meet our needs.
