Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF): N32253 Solicitation – N32253-25-Q-0005
Dismantle and Removal of Electric Generators
RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS (12/5/2024)
1. Will be conducting a site visit or is an open site visit for anytime?
Government Response: There is no site visit scheduled at this time, and the site is an active work area and would need to be coordinated to be visited.
2. Will the Government be providing Pictures of the existing units to be removed and Interior pictures or drawings showing egress means?
Government Response: Equipment photos are available upon request and may show some parts of the interior.
3. Once removed are the units to be salvaged for storage or re-use and another facility ?
Government Response: Units to be evaluated and dispositioned at another facility to determine units future.
4. Is disassembly of the generators necessary for this task? We ask, because, if possible, decommissioning and moving the generators without disassembly is likely a more cost-effective option. However, if, for example, the generators are located in a space that requires them to be taken apart in order to be able to move components through a small doorway or opening, disassembly would be necessary.
Government Response: Facility performing disposition has size requirements prior to disposition for units, size requirements provided are the acceptable max limit required from the facility. This is required to follow federal regulations regarding equipment.
5. Is it possible that the generators will be available for salvage or purchase, or not (for example, PHNSY might have plans to reuse them later)?
Government Response: Federal regulations will be followed to insure each unit is properly evaluated prior to planning the future of any government equipment.
