About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation N32253-25-Q-0015 issued by Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & IMF (PHNSY & IMF) regarding the dismantling of plate rollers. The document contains four contractor questions and government responses dated January 28, 2025.

The Q&A clarifies that these are different plate rollers from a previous requirement, and the contractor must transport the rollers to a designated area outside the CIA within 1 mile as specified in the PWS. The document confirms that concrete flush cutting with the floor is not required. Regarding packaging requirements, the government clarifies that the rollers can be secured and palletized or placed on dunnage by the contractor, rather than requiring wooden shipping containers/crates.

Plate Rollers Dismantle

RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS (1/28/2025)

1. Question: Are these the same plate rollers that were in a previous requirement?

Answer: No, these are different plate rollers.

2. Question: Will you stage these (packaged) rollers around the building or elsewhere on base?

Answer: PWS requires rollers to be taken to a designated area outside of the CIA by the

Contractor. Designated space is less than 1 mile as stated in the PWS.

3. Question: Will the concrete (lip/edge) have to be flush cut with the floor?

Answer: No.

4. Question: If the PWS calls for dismantling/disassembly/disconnecting these rollers and

(crating them) you know building wooden shipping containers/crates for shipment elsewhere . Will you make the successful contractor actually do this? There have been instances before were a contractor submitted an unbalanced bid that didn't cover the cost of lumber, let alone the price of airfare from the mainland and was still awarded the project somehow?

Answer: ? Per PWS, rollers can be secured and palletized or placed on dunnage by the

Contractor.
