PHNSY Apprentice Program Academic Requirements
First Year Semester 1 (Summer)
MATH 50 Technical Mathematics I: Basic algebra and basic geometry as applied to shop problems.
IEDD 101 Basic Drafting and Blueprint Reading: A basic mechanic drawing course. Includes the use of drafting instruments, technical terminology, drawing scales, linework, lettering, orthographic projection, auxiliary and sectional views, assemblies, and pictorials, threads and welds, and basic shop drawings. Lecture, demonstration, and exercise drawing.
First Year Semester 2 (Fall)
MATH 197 Technical Mathematics II: This course is intended for students in Technical Occupational programs. Topics include an introduction to quantitative and logical reasoning; probability, descriptive statistics; geometry, trigonometry , and vectors. Problem solving will be stressed with an emphasis on technical applications.
ENG 100 Composition: Introduction to the rhetorical, conceptual, and stylistic demands of writing at the college level. Instruction in the composing process, search strategies, and writing from sources.
