About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the USNS Robert F. Kennedy T-AO 208 Machinery Auxiliary Systems Contract, specifying technical services for the Ship's Service Diesel Generator (SSDG) No. 2 engine air start system. The work involves providing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized technical services for a Bergen Diesel Model KVGB-16 16-cylinder diesel generator located in the Main Machinery Room. The primary requirement is to troubleshoot, remove, and replace the air start distributor (Drawing No. 662/12) with a new component, followed by disassembly, cleaning, and bench testing of the existing unit at a repair facility with documentation of all findings, clearances, and photographs. The contractor must provide an OEM authorized field service representative to ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and specifications, coordinate with ship's force for lockout and tagout procedures, arrange for American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) to witness and certify all repairs, and submit comprehensive reports including an "as found condition" report and final report upon completion.

The period of performance is November 9-13, 2026, with work to be performed at Naval Operations Norfolk, Virginia Pier. The scope includes performance testing, inspection, and complete documentation of all work performed. The MSC notes indicate that SSDG No. 2 is unable to blow down due to a worn disk and incorrect timing. Government-furnished materials are listed as none, indicating the contractor is responsible for providing all required components and services. The contact information provided references Adel Mousa at MSHS as the Defense & Development Program Manager for potential source information.
