AMENDMENT 2 RFCS

REQUEST FOR SPECIFICATION CLARIFICATION

SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 102 - 105

PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: N/A

TITLE: Various

QUESTION 4:

We are pricing Items 102 thru 105 separately, but assume they would be released and worked as a group to achieve the best possible pricing for MSC. Please advise if this assumption is correct.

ANSWER:

Work items 102 through 105 can be worked simultaneously, however the offeror should know the crew will remain onboard during the availability.

SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 102

PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: Various

TITLE: Renew 06 Level Non-Skid

QUESTION 5:

1. Can we assume the 800 square feet noted in 3.1.2 is a continuous, unbroken area and not scattered spot work?

2. What “structure inside this perimeter” should be allowed for i.e. clover leafs, D rings, foundations, etc (7.2) or is the work area the flat deck?

3. Can we assume that the approval for UHP water blasting (7.4.7 and 7.4.7.i) will be allowed or should we provide pricing for each option i.e. girt and water?

4. Can the coating be applied via brush and roll or must these coating be applied via airless spray?

5. The finish coat of non-slip (not non-skid) is 385 ASA (4.2.4, 7.5.6.d, 7.5.7). In past experiences with this product it’s normally applied at 4 to 6 mils DFT. The application procedure defined in 7.5.7 a – g is for Amercoat 138G (which is not listed as a GFM in 4.2.4). Is the finish coat non-slip (385ASA) or non-skid (138G)?

6. Can the owner advise what deck markings (7.6.1) are involved with this item?

ANSWER:

The square footage has been increased and Work Item updated to reflect the increase based on conversations with the Ship as well as application of ASA385. Contracting will provide an updated work item.

The Offeror shall note not all areas are continuous and are expected to be broken up totaling the square footage estimated.

The Offeror should expect bulkheads, cable penetrations, fishplates and other areas that require containment.

Correction on application of ASA application, revised Work Item will reflect application.

The Offeror has the approval to use UHP water blasting vice grit blast as long as it meets the local area of environmental standards.

Work items explicitly states Non-Slip brush/Spray applications are not permitted.

All deck markings shall be identified upon starting.

SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 103
