CATEGORY “A”

1.0 ABSTRACT

1.1 This item describes the requirement to perform the inspection and lubrication on six (6) propulsion line shaft bearings (LSB) during the Post Delivery Availability (PDA) for EPF 11 through 14.

3.0 LOCATION/QUANTITY:

3.1 Location

3.2.1 Six (6) Total (3-each location) for each ship

5.0 NOTES:

5.1 This is a EPF class contract with a separate period of performance for each of the 4 vessels. Specific onsite periods of performance will be provided as each vessel is delivered and enters its respective Post Delivery Availability.

5.2 Performance Periods:

5.2.1 EPF-11 31 October 2019 – 28 November 2019

5.2.2 EPF-12 (notional) 10 December 2019 – 10 January 2020

5.2.3 EPF-13 (notional) 10 June 2021 – 10 July 2021

5.2.4 EPF-14 (notional) 10 December 2021 - 10 January 2022

5.3 Performance Location: Austal USA Shipyard, Vessel Completion Yard, Mobile, Alabama.

5.5 For access to the Austal USA Shipyard, Vessel Completion Yard, Mobile, Alabama, the contractor shall make arrangements, furnish all credentials and fulfill requirements for access. The Point of Contact (POC) is lisabower@austalusa.com for Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) information, security and visitor passes.

5.6 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s including but not limited to GTR’s 1 through 7, 22, 23, 26, 28 and 29.

5.7 The contractor shall follow the MSC Lock Out/Tag Out Procedure administered by the vessel’s Chief Engineer.

5.8 The contractor shall be responsible for the removal and replacement of interferences such as, but not limited to, CBG fire panels, bulkhead panels, overhead panels and ventilation duct work.

5.9 The contractor shall be responsible for all requirements for rigging, positioning, and lifting such as but not limited to crane, man-lift and scaffolding.

6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS

6.1 None Additional

7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED

7.1 Provide the services of a Cooper Bearing OEM service representative to perform the services detailed in the following Statement of Work.

7.2 Contractor to provide all tools, material and skilled labor to disassemble all 6 LSBs under the direction of the OEM.

7.2.1 Perform inspection with MSCREP, Ships Force and ABS. Submit the results to the OEM insection in a Condition Report to MSCREP detailing conditions found, descrepancies and recommendations.

7.2.2 Contractor shall reinstall bearings. MSCREP may choose to Replace LSB’s with GFM upon inspection results. Bearings will be lubricated with the OEM recommended lubricant provided as CFM.

7.2.2.1 Contractor shall schedule bearing alignment and final torques for periods while the respective propulsion shafts and equipment may be turned. Scheudle shall be coordinated with other work and ships force. OEM rep shall be in attendace during final torques.

7.3 Contractor provide all cleaning material, lint free rags and all required petroleum products to execute this maintenance requirement.

7.4 Any issues found during Contractor post cleaning inspection shall be documented and provided via CFR to MSCREP within 24 hours of discovery.

7.5 Prior to applying new lubricant, Contractor shall conduct joint cleanliness inspection with MSCREP. New lubricants may only be installed once approved by MSCREP and Ship’s Force.

7.6 Provide a Service report documenting the pre and post inspection conditions, lubricants used and dates of service. Reports shall be provided via PDF and paper copy to the MSCREP prior to Post Delivery Availability (PDA) end date.

7.7 Contractor shall provide the same OEM representative to be present during ship’s dock trials. Dock trials will be scheduled to occur on the last 2 days of the availability. Contractor should verify this with the MSCREP for scheduling verifications.

8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Contractor shall provide the services of a qualified OEM representative.
