STARBOARD ANCHOR WINDLESS REPAIR

1.0 ABSTRACT:

This item describes repair for the Starboard (STBD) Anchor Windlass Drive Shaft.

2.0 REFERENCES:

2.1 TG813BV-MMC-010; Technical Manual Electrically Driven Deck Machinery Models 03-136-184/0, 03-136-185/0, 03-136-186/0 and 03-136/187/0.

3.0 ITEM LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION:

3.1 Location and Quantity.

3.1.1 Location: Forward Mooring Area, 01 Level.

3.1.2 Quantity: STBD Anchor Windlass

3.2 Item Description/Manufacturer's Data:

5.0 NOTES:

5.1 Period of Performance: 23 November 2019 – 04 December 2019

5.2 Location: Chinhae, South Korea

5.3 All maintenance shall be performed in accordance with OEM recommended practices and procedures.

5.4 The contractor shall be responsible for relocation or rerouting of all interferences, including piping and cabling, etc. The contractor shall be responsible for providing any additional material required for reinstallation or rerouting of interferences.

5.5 All welding shall be in accordance with ABS requirements for building and classing steel ships.

5.6 Under separate contract, welding services shall be provided by local contractors.

5.7 Under separate contract, crane and rigging Services shall be provided by local contractors.

6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:

None

7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK:

7.1 Provide the service of authorized OEM TTS Marine to remove, repair and reinstall the STBD Anchor Windlass Drive Shaft.

7.2 Tag Out all electrical equipment

7.3 Disconnect all electrical wires and mark for reinstallation.

7.4 Contractor shall remove the existing anchor windlass Drive shaft and gear box assembly.

7.4.1 Anchor Windlass weights approx 4400kgs (9700lbs) for rigging purposes.

7.4.2 With the motor electrically disconnected, disconnect the anchor windlass from the main assembly. Uncouple anchor windless to allow removal of gearbox and mooring drum. Prior to removal of the 4ea pins in the foundation, ensure assembly is secured by rigging.

7.4.3 Clean and prepare all bocks and fasteners for reinstallation.

7.5 Provide rigging to lift assembly to pier.

7.5.1 Remove the foundation pins to allow removal of the unit from its foundation.

7.6 Transport Anchor Windlass Drive Assembly to Machine Shop.

7.7 Disassemble drive shaft equipment at machine shop.

7.8 Clean assembly as necessary to effectively evaluate shaft and old bushings, replace and measure for new bushings.

7.9 CALL OUT for ABS and MSCREP for initial inspection of wear and condition.

7.10 Replace all Drive Shaft Bushings as necessary.

7.10.1 TTS Marine to provide all dimensions of both drive assembly equipment and bushings.

7.10.2 Fabricate new bushings per TTS Marine Guidance, as required.

7.10.3 Measure the wear of both the shaft and gears for Bushing dimensions and reflect on what they are supposed to be.

7.11 Upon completion of all Bushing replacement, CALL OUT ABS and MSCREP for completion inspection.

7.12 Transport Drive Shaft and Gear Box Assembly back to the ship for reinstallation.

7.13 Contractor to ensure Drive Shaft Assembly mounting areas on the Anchor Deck and AW#1 are cleaned and dressed for reinstallation

7.14 Rig Assembly from Pier to AW#1.

7.14.1 Hold and reinstall all Gearbox and windlass mounting pins.

7.14.1.1 Use new SS cotter pins.

7.14.1.2 TTS to ensure that all drive assembly is aligned properly for effective operations.

7.15 Fasten all mounting and retaining fasteners per OEM requirements.

7.16 Electrically connect all motors and sensors as per originally found and marked.

7.17 Operationally Test Anchor Windlass in the presence of ABS and MSC Rep as required.

7.17.1 Provide a Service Report that reflects are work completed on the drive assembly to include any and all changes from original design.
