1.0 ABSTRACT
1.1 This item describes 2000 H.R. Maintenance of Ship Service Diesel Generators (SSDG) #1, #2, #3, and #4.

3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION
3.1 Location/Quantity

4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/ MATERIAL / SERVICE
4.1 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT: NONE
4.2 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED MATERIALS: NONE
4.3 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED SERVICES: 110V Electrical service, 125 PSI compressed air. 75 psi potable water. Government will not furnish hoses, wiring, plugs, and receptacles connectors.
5.0 NOTES
5.1 USNS CITY OF BISMARCK LOCATION: TBD
5.2 PERFORMANCE PERIOD:
5.2.1 10 days between 07 JAN – 06 APR 2019
5.3 Contact Zachary Fellone: (757) 362-8780, email zachary.fellone1@navy.mil , for instruction for accessing shipyard and the vessel.
5.4 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s including but not limited to GTR’s 1 through 7, 22, 23, 26, 28 and 29.
5.5 The Contractor shall be an authorized Fincantieri Marine Systems North America, Inc., authorized technical representative experienced with IFV1312C2ME-HPCR engines and the JHSV Class.
5.6 The Contractor shall furnish all tools and equipment to accomplish the Statement of Work.
5.7 The vessel shall dispose of any cooling water or oil removed that is associated with this work item.
5.8 The contractor shall not operate ship’s equipment without a vessel representative present.
5.9 The contractor shall follow the MSC Lock Out Tag Out Procedure administered by the vessel’s Chief Engineer.
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
6.1 The contractor is responsible for cleaning areas affected and disturbed by their maintenance performed.
6.2 The contractor shall perform all system pre-checks and operational completion checks with vessel crew present.
7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED
7.1 Contractor shall perform the 2000 and 1000-hour maintenance on #1, #2, #3, and #4 Ship Service Diesel Generators using contractor provided equipment, required replacement filter elements, gaskets and seals, and tools.
7.2 Contractor shall perform an operational test of Ship Service Diesel Generators with electrical load applied upon completion of all work.
7.2.1 The testing under load will have to be coordinated once the vessel is waterborne and all systems have been verified ready for testing by Ship’s Force, and the shipyard.
7.3 Upon completion of work, the demonstration of safeties shall be provided.
7.4 Replace one (1) LOP display with “SOLID” display on one (1) SSDG selected by the Chief Engineer.
7.5 Perform the following SSDG MAINTENANCE. TASKS:
7.5.1 Group C 500 Hr. Maintenance Actions:
7.5.1.1 Clean air filter, card 05-K
7.5.1.2 Clean fuel cooler, card 02-V. Cleaning chemicals shall be provided by contractor.
7.5.1.3 Visual inspection of engine mounts
7.5.1.4 Check and calibrate engine speed pick-ups
7.5.2 CLIN 0009 Group D 1000 Hr. Maintenance Actions:
7.5.2.1 C-5.4.2.3, Check valve clearance, card 01-D
7.5.2.2 Provide and replace crank breather filter element
7.5.3 Group D 2000 Hr. Maintenance Actions:
7.5.3.1 Clean oil cooler, card 03-F
7.5.3.2 Check SW and FW pump impeller, card 04-G and 04-I
7.5.3.3 Clean FW cooler, card 04-J
7.5.3.4 Check coolant temp valve on FW circuit, card 04-M
7.5.3.5 Replace coolant with ships provided coolant, card 04-K
7.5.3.6 Clean intercooler, card 05-E and 05-X
7.5.3.7 Replace air filter, card 05-K
7.5.3.8 Visual inspection of crank damper and flexible coupling, card 01-F
7.5.3.9 Check mounts torque, card 09-A
7.5.3.10 Check turbo axial and radial play, card 05-C
7.5.3.11 Check air flap
7.5.3.12 Check pressure and temperature switches, card 08-D and 08-E
7.6 Contractor shall furnish documentation of all work completed with time sheets signed by Chief Engineer. This item shall include 1 hard copy to Chief Engineer and 1 Electronic copy in .PDF or .XLS to Port Engineer and Chief Engineer.
