QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
10 January 2018
The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and DO NOT constitute an amendment to the solicitation.
1. Will MSC consider relaxing the 20 year or less age requirement for a US Flag vessel?
ANSWER: No, as stated in the RFP, MSC will not allow for vessels that are older than 20 years of age; the vessel's age shall be less than 20 years for the duration of the charter and vessels that will exceed 15 years during the charter period must be enrolled in their classification society's Condition Assessment Program (CAP) and be rated CAP 2 or better.
2. We note that RFP has max LOA of 185 meters; can that be increased?
ANSWER: No, based on our information and the intended mission, the maximum LOA remains unchanged.
3. Please advise what port has the restriction of 9.9 meters basis mission cargo.
ANSWER: The port with the limiting draft restriction of 9.9 meters is Killingholme.
