1.0 Introduction

1.1 Background

The Air Vehicle/Stores Compatibility (AVSC) sub-Division of the Manned and Unmanned Air Vehicle Evaluation Division (AIR-5.1.6) is responsible for evaluating compatibility between USN/USMC aircraft and the stores they employ for tactical aircraft missions. Conducting weapon separation flight tests is a critical component of that evaluation. One of the primary methods used to evaluate weapon separation characteristics is to gather data with inertial measurement units (IMU) installed in the weapons/stores that are released.

1.2 Scope

The AVSC sub-division has a requirement for a contract vehicle with provisions to purchase and re-calibrate 6DoF IMUs and purchase associated hardware. Recalibrations are to be conducted in accordance with OPNAV INST 3960.16A.

2.0 Applicable Documents

OPNAV INST 3960.16A NAVY TEST, MEASUREMENT, AND DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT (TMDE), AUTOMATIC TEST SYSTEMS (ATS), AND METROLOGY AND CALIBRATION (METCAL)
