Question & Answer
1.Does the Gov't own these tanks (Nitrogen, Argon, Oxygen) or will we need to supply and install new tanks?
· Answer- We own a bulk Nitrogen and Oxygen tank. The Contractor would need to supply a bulk Liquid Argon tank and a 180L Liquid Nitrogen Tank.
2. The Bulk Oxygen requirement states ABO Grade Breathable Liquid Oxygen. Is USP Medical Grade acceptable?
· Answer- USP Medical Grade is not acceptable. Only Aviation Breathing Oxygen is acceptable, and in the past during a lapse in contracts and /or previous contracts with Central Welding it was filled here in WA from a location in Marysville. The requirement is due to aviation parts and support equipment used and supported to the aircraft.
3. What does the process involve for our driver to deliver?
· Answer- The driver would initially need to obtain base access by registering with Pass and ID and would require the driver to have a REAL ID /Passport. Following getting base access, the standard procedure would to enter via the Charles porter gate and pass through standard vehicle inspection. For Bulk Oxygen and Liquid Nitrogen we (Navy personnel) will meet the truck at the gate to escort the truck across the flight line. For liquid argon and 180L tank the driver would be able to driver to our facility on base for delivery
4. Does someone need to witness the delivery and sign off on paperwork?
· Answer- For liquid argon and 180L tank the delivery receipt can be left at the tank when completing the gas delivery. For the Bulk Oxygen and Liquid Nitrogen on the flight line the Navy personnel that are escorting the truck can be provided the receipt.
5. How long might an average delivery take on-site? A typical delivery usually takes 1-hour or so.
· Answer- An estimated hour seems normal but is dependent on the amount being delivered. If a complete full replenishment requires split deliveries, that would be acceptable as the main priority would be not have empty tanks and be without the required gases.
