About this file

This is a Question and Answer document (Amendment 01) for federal contract opportunity N00244-26-Q-0066.

The document addresses seven clarification questions regarding repair services for Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) lift fans and ducting components. Key technical requirements include: tungsten carbide High Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF) coatings are mandatory with no acceptable alternatives; the shaft base material is stainless steel; all repairs require NAVSEA certification per reference document T9074-AA-GIB-010/1687 (Thermal Spray Processes for Naval Ship Machinery Applications); and if machined areas require material buildup, compatible stainless steel or Inconel must be used as a base metal prior to tungsten carbide coating application. The applicable NAVSEA technical manual is Landing Craft Air Cushion Lift Fans and Ducting S9248-AA-TMM-044. The contract is not brand-new; it represents a follow-on to previous contract N0024425P0074, indicating this is a recompete or renewal of existing Navy maintenance and repair services. The contracting activity is Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division.
