AMENDMENTS & QUESTIONS RECEIEVED
1. Requesting activity has requested to have quantity of all items has been updated from “350 each” to “243 each” please update quotes accordingly.
2. Question: Please Advise if VitalSource BookSelf App is acceptable digital Electronic Textbook download to quote. Customer is required to download copies within 30 days of purchase. “
a. Response from Activity:
“If we have to use the VitalSource Bookshelf App, we can’t have it restricted to a 30 day period, as requesting activity will have to image all the tablet’s to the DoD approved OS and then download all the books to each tablet.
There will be only one Tech to perform the OS image and the e-book download for each tablet. Also if a tablet gets damaged and has to be replaced, will have to be able to download the e-books onto a replacement unit. (Reason we are purchasing a lifetime license.)?
3. Questions: Because of Digital Rights Management, the publishers do not allow for pdf download and transfer of their books. Do you know if these tablets can be connected to the internet just one time to allow for the download of the books unto them? They will still have offline access but the licenses can only be redeemed on the tablet on which it is intended to be accessed.
a. Response from Activity:
“Yes the tablet can be connected to the internet long enough to download the full book onto the tablet. But must be the entire book download.”
