About this file

This document contains the Questions and Answers for the Request for Quotations (RFQ) N0018924QR147 issued by the Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command for 40 Chromebooks.

The key details are:

  • The government will accept custom, OEM-built Chromebooks that are Trade Agreement Act (TAA) compliant and come with a warranty.
  • Payment terms are net 30 days, not net 0.
  • The Chromebooks must have an easily accessible and removable Wi-Fi card that can be removed to negate future Wi-Fi access, as the students will not need internet connectivity.
  • No specific Chromebook model is required, but it must be a Chromebook.
  • Detachable or convertible display capability is not a requirement.

Questions

Question: Will the government accept custom, OEM built Chromebooks for this RFQ Answer: Yes, if TAA compliant and would assume a warranty as well.

Question: Would you be able to make payment on a NET 0 Answer: No – it would be a net payment of 30

Question: When you say: "easily accessible and removable Wi-Fi card" are you referring to it being a separate entity that can be removed (such as a flash drive) or something internal that could be accessed and removed to negate any future Wi-Fi access?

Answer: Something internal that could be accessed and removed to negate any future Wi-Fi access (The Wi-Fi card is a removeable device connected to the motherboard. Once we remove the Wi-Fi card it will not be put back into the Chromebook. The dongle is not necessary because the students will not need internet access.)

Question: In regards to the removable WIFI Card. Are we referring to USB dongle or Wi-Fi network smart cards like PIV cards used in Federal?

Answer: The dongle is not necessary because the students will not need internet access.

Also see above.

Question: Any specific model in mind or brand exclusions or inclusions?

Answer: No specific model but must be a Chromebook

Question: For the required and 2 in 1 models, does this mean detachable display to use it as tablet? Can this this be Chromebook which can fold to 180 degrees to convert itself as tablet?

Answer: The detachable display or convertible display is not a concern for our team loading the tablets.
