SOW

STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

COMMANDER, NAVAL AIR FORCE RESERVE (CNAFR) ELECTRONIC FLIGHT BAG (EFB) PROCUREMENT

1.0 INTRODUCTION: The Commander, Navy Air Force Reserve (CNAFR) has the requirement to acquire an additional 220 each iPad 2017, 10 each iPad Mini 4’s, and associated hardware for use as Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) by Fleet Logistics Support Wing (FLSW) aircrews.

2.0 BACKGROUND: Tablets have become ubiquitous in the aviation industry and are becoming increasingly common in military aviation for use as Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs). CNAFR squadrons will use EFB’s during all phases of flight offering easy and fast access to checklists, publications, emergency procedures, takeoff and landing data as well as cutting down on the number and amount of paper products the flight crew is required to carry onboard each aircraft. Additionally, the EFB will aid CNAFR squadrons in situational awareness and enhance the aircrew’s overall safety. The EFBs offer immediate access to briefing guides, aircraft manuals, flight crew operating manuals, checklists, navigation applications and publications, emergency procedures, takeoff and landing data, and Navy instructions, all while greatly reducing the amount of paper products required to update, maintain, and carry onboard each aircraft. The EFBs represent huge gains in situational awareness for CNAFR squadrons, significantly enhancing safety and efficiency for transport operations. This procurement will fulfill the remainder of the CNAFR VR squadron EFB requirement.

3.0 SCOPE: The objective of this CNAFR effort is to purchase 220 each iPad 2017, 220 each Otterbox Defender series for iPad 2017, 10 each iPad Mini IV’s and 10 each Otterbox Defender series for iPad Mini IV for CNAFR VR squadrons to use as EFBs.

4.0 APPLICABLE DIRECTIVES: This section should list all documents referenced under Section 5.0 Performance requirements that the contractor will have to comply with in performance of the SOW.
