BALL AEROSPACE AFFORDABLE COMMON RADAR ARCHITECTURE (ACRA) DIGITAL RECEIVER CABLE SPARES STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

1.0 BACKGROUND

The Affordable Common Radar Architecture (ACRA) prototype system was delivered to Dahlgren in September 2013. Since then, the prototype has undergone extensive testing. As a result, some minor issues have been identified that need to be addressed and some additional spare parts are required to replace broken ones. This SOW addresses some of these parts produced by Ball Aerospace.

2.0APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1Updated—Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corp. (Ball Aerospace) Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Proposal P1013-3165 for the Affordable Common Radar Architecture (ACRA) Digital Receiver Spares. Proposal number TS.13.SML.P1013-3165.L022, dated 8 April 2014.
2.2Ball Aerospace Proposed Cable Modification Presentation, dated 28 October 2013.
3.0REQUIREMENTS
3.1Testing of the existing cables showed that there was significant crosstalk between the I2C signals and the SPI signal that were present in the same cable. Independent shielding around each set of signal wires was shown to improve the performance significantly. Current cables shall be replaced (part numbers 2357968-500 and 23579868-501) as specified in the Ball Proposed Cable Modification Presentation by the contractor to improve shielding.
3.2Downconvter Control Cables: The contractor shall deliver the cables listed below in accordance with the contractor’s proposed design to improve shielding:

3.2.1The contractor shall deliver any other cables that are created in the development of the manufacturing process to the government.
3.2.2The contractor shall ensure the cables are checked for continuity according to the wiring diagram in the Ball Aerospace Proposed Cable Modification Presentation, dated 28 October 2013.
3.3ADC Cover: In previous testing, the ADC board set was not mechanically supported properly with the result that board connectors were damaged. The installation was very sensitive to the thickness and type of washers and screws that were used. The contractor shall provide a redesigned ADC Cover (also known as the “clamshell”) in order to prevent the damage of the ADC board set and make it easier to install with standard washers and screws.
3.3.1The contractor shall deliver the following in accordance with the contractor’s proposed design to prevent ADC board set damage and easier installation:

3.3.2The contractor shall deliver any other cables used in the testing of the ADC board sets, such as Ethernet Cables, to the government.
3.4The contractor shall perform all tasks under this statement of work at the contractor’s facility.
3.5Acceptance testing of delivered components will be performed by the government in existing government facilities at the NSWCDD located in Dahlgren, VA. Additional component level changes/revisions, if required, will be addressed under separate contract.
4.0DELIVERABLES
4.1The contractor shall provide DRX Down Converter A Control Cable Drawings (CDRL A001); and
