FAST AIR TARGET ENCOUNTER PENETRATION (FATEPEN) IMPROVEMENT AND SUPPORT
STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
1.0 SCOPE
1.1 Background
Fast Air Target Encounter Penetration (FATEPEN) has been developed, supported, and maintained by the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness (JTCG/ME). FATEPEN is a ballistics impact model capable of predicting the penetration by warhead fragment and rod type impactors engaging fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing aircraft, missiles, ground-mobile, small watercraft, and similar light tactical targets. FATEPEN is the standard penetration methodology for assessing fragments against any foreign targets and is also the predominant methodology for evaluating survivability of US vehicles.
