SUMMARY OF CHANGES_
The purpose of this amendment is to 1) answer questions received in response to the solicitation posting and 2) extend the solicitation closing date as follows:
Question 1: What is the current compressed air supply available (cfm rating at 100 psi)? Can you provide the manufacturers name, model number, serial number, and horsepower rating for the air compressor that is currently used for the existing automated blast machine?
Answer 1: Compressed Air Dryer Specs
Rated capacity: 165 SCFM at 100 psi
Manufacturer: Kaeser Kompressoren
Model Number: KLD-165
Serial Number: 3334-2-9808-13KD
Horsepower Rating: N/A (Dryer has power rating of 49.4 W presumably for electronics/human machine interface)
We highly recommend replacing the compressed air dryer.
Question 2: What is the voltage currently feeding the existing automated blast machine? 480 volt/3 phase or other?
Answer 2: 480 volt/3 phase is feeding the existing automated blast machine.
Question 3: What is the current media and media size being used for your current process?
Answer 3: Currently use Blastite BT (96-100% Al2O3, 0-3% TiO2) with ANSI Grit Size 24 from Washington Mills.
Question 4: Is there a defined surface profile you are trying to achieve and that we should be required to meet?
Answer 4: No defined surface profile, looking for rough surface throughout the inner surface of the part.
Question 5: What blast pressure are you blasting at in your current process?
Answer 5: Typically 75 psi, can range from 65-75 psi.
Question 6: Can you provide the model number and part number for the blast nozzle you are currently using for your existing process?
Answer 6: Surface Blasting Systems (SBS) Part Number 0400214S. No model number as it is a custom part.
Question 7: What is your current/average time cycle for your existing blasting process per part?
Answer 7: 4-6 minutes per part.
Question 8: Any chance you would be able to supply pictures of the concrete pad and surrounding area where the Dust Collector would go outside? Also, could you have a picture of the door where the machine/rigging equipment would need to go through to carry the machine into place? Finally, would you be able to supply a few pictures of where the machine will be located in order to see any possible hazards (pipes, beams, etc.)?
Answer 8: Due to timing and the security review/approval process for releasing photos, photos cannot be provided. Dimensions are provided below.
Dimensions for the concrete pad outside where the Dust Collector would be placed were previously provided. The concrete pad dimensions are 15 feet (length) x 7.5 feet (width).
Dimensions for the double door into the bay are 10 feet (height) x 6 feet (width).
Dimensions for the space for the machine were previously provided. The grit blaster and associated equipment needs to fit within a space of about 25 feet (length) x 12.5 feet (width) x 15 feet (height) inside the building. The dimensions given ensure that no beams, pipes, etc. interfere with the design.
Question 9: Can we get an extension for submission of bids till September 16, 2024?
Answer 9: Yes, the Government will extend the bid submission deadline to 16 September 2024 2:00 pm EST.
2. The solicitation closing date is extended
FROM:
12 September 2024 2:00 pm EST
TO:
16 September 2024 2:00 pm EST
3. All other items remain unchanged.
